The LCADA Way is a non-profit organization and as such it relies heavily on the generosity of the community to finance our programs and services. Here’s a list of the many ways you can give:
The most common type of gift is providing a bequest of cash, personal property or real estate. These gifts are not subject to federal estate tax.
You may make a gift of your personal residence to a charity and retain the right to live in the home for the rest of your life.
Establishing an irrevocable trust that provides an annual income to the donor and/or another person for life or a period of years is often an effective way to make a gift. These trusts may be set up by the donor’s will, directing the income to another person such as a child or a spouse, followed by the principal going to a favorite charity.
You may choose to set up a trust that pays income annually to a charity for a fixed number of years. After that period, the principal of the trust reverts to you or another person. The income paid is not taxable.
