Addiction and abuse are prevalent in all age groups, but adolescents are especially vulnerable to these diseases. That’s why we offer treatment programs specially designed for the specific challenges and needs of adolescents and their families. We recognize that the success of an adolescent’s treatment depends on understanding many factors. We take into account the emotional, behavioral, environmental and family aspects of the adolescent’s life.
Our Adolescent Services include:
The LCADA Way provides a variety of assessment options and screening services designed to fit your needs and availability. To schedule an appointment for an assessment, please call our Intake Services Department at (440) 989-4900, select option #2.
Our Outpatient Program is designed for adolescents with a history of substance abuse. Treatment involves individual and/or group therapy, In-Home Family Therapy and Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA). This is a comprehensive behavioral program for treating substance abuse related problems. It is based on the belief that environmental contingencies can play a powerful role in encouraging or discouraging drinking or drug use. It utilizes social, recreational, familial, and vocational re-enforcers to assist adolescents in the recovery process.
Intensive Outpatient Program
We have designed our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to address the specific needs of adolescents who not only have a substance abuse disorder but who also may have significant emotional, behavioral, social and/or family problems. Our treatment focuses primarily on the adolescent and involves group, family and individual therapy. Through this comprehensive therapy, we create a safe setting where we can guide adolescents and their families through a process of healing and recovery.
The LCADA Way Family Programming is offered as an open-ended educational support group. It is designed and conducted primarily for parents, spouses and other family members who are concerned about a loved one’s harmful use of alcohol or other drugs. The group is not a 12-step self-help group.
Our AfterCare Program consists of a step-down model of care that assist adolescents in maintaining their newly established recovery. It helps develop relapse prevention skills and identify community and family support networks. Most importantly, the program shows adolescents how to rebuild family communications and trust.
